My Approach

My approach to counseling is personalized to each client's unique needs. During the initial session, I take the time to understand concerns and goals, and then work collaboratively to explore different ways of thinking and acting that could improve well-being.

I will utilize a variety of evidence-based therapies, with a focus on cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) to address a wide range of issues. Additionally, I integrate elements of other effective therapies such as dialectical-behavior therapy (DBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and trauma-focused CBT (TF-CBT) to create a comprehensive and tailored treatment plan.

How often will we meet?

Sessions are usually held weekly or bi-weekly. This schedule can be adjusted based on your progress and preferences, in discussion with your counsellor

What should I expect in my first session?

The first session is typically an intake. You and your counsellor will discuss why you're seeking counselling, your history, and your goals. It's also a chance for you to see if the counsellor is a good fit for you.

Is everything I share confidential?

Confidentiality is a fundamental aspect of counselling. Your counsellor will explain the limits of confidentiality, which typically apply in situations where there is a risk of harm to yourself or others, or in cases of child abuse.
